RedMagic 12 Pro+ will be officially released in October 2026. Gaming brand Nubia confirmed the presentation month of the new flagship on its official Weibo page, putting an end to long-running speculation about the launch date.
Along with the official announcement, new details about the smartphone appeared. In particular, RedMagic 12 Pro+ will receive a new flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6a cooling system with a fan and liquid circuit, as well as a full-screen display without a hole for the front camera.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and “dual-chip architecture”
RedMagic confirmed the use of the processor in 12 Pro+ Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. The manufacturer also names the design of the smartphone “two-chip architecture”. However, it is still unclear what exactly is meant. This could mean the use of two separate chips, but RedMagic has not yet revealed their purpose. The Smart Pikachu insider also did not provide specific details about this system. Therefore, it is too early to talk about a second processor or a separate performance chip. The exact implementation of the “dual chip architecture” should become known closer to the presentation. Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 will replace the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Leading Version, which is used in the current RedMagic 11S Pro.
Display without a hole for a selfie camera
RedMagic 12 Pro+ will have a full-screen display without a notch and a hole for the front camera. The selfie camera will be located under the display. According to Smart Pikachu, the smartphone will receive the ninth generation of underscreen camera technology. Another change concerns the bezels around the screen. Their width will allegedly be only 0.96 mmwhile this indicator was about 1.25 mm in the predecessor. This is especially important for a gaming smartphone: the absence of a hole and minimal frames allow you to maximize the display area without elements that overlap the image during the game.
Fan and liquid cooling
RedMagic retains one of the main elements of its gaming smartphones — active cooling with a physical fan. The system will also use a liquid circuit. This approach was already used in the previous generation, but this time the company promises to implement it in the upcoming case thinner and lighter. The exact weight of the RedMagic 12 Pro+ has not yet been announced. The manufacturer only confirmed that the smartphone will become noticeably lighter compared to its predecessor. Physical shoulder triggers for in-game controls will also remain.
Improve sound, vibration and RGB lighting
According to Smart Pikachu, RedMagic has prepared comprehensive updates of the multimedia part of the smartphone. Improvements should receive:
- RGB lighting;
- vibration motor;
- audio system
So far, the specific characteristics of these components have not been disclosed. Also, the insider mentions another function under a conventional name “One more thing”. RedMagic is deliberately not disclosing its purpose, so it is currently unknown whether it is a new hardware feature or a software feature.
When will be presented RedMagic 12 Pro+
Officially confirmed only that RedMagic 12 Pro+ will be presented in October 2026. The company has not yet announced the exact date, price and full list of features. It is expected that the novelty will compete for the attention of users with such productive flagships as OnePlus 16 and iQOO 16. For comparison, the previous RedMagic 11S Pro launched in China at around 5,499 yuan. However, it is too early to predict the price of the new generation. RedMagic will gradually reveal the specifications of the 12 Pro+ before the presentation. Among the already known features are the new Snapdragon, a holeless display, the ninth generation of the under-screen camera and an updated active cooling system.
