HarmonyOS 7 continues to spread to smartphones and other devices Huawei. Company gradually opens access to public beta for new models while testing new smart features, interface changes, and system optimizations.
The first series were already included in the program Huawei Mate 80, Pura 90 and nova 16as well as a number of other relevant devices. The next stage will cover, in particular, Mate 60 and Mate X5.
What’s new in HarmonyOS 7

Which smartphones are already getting HarmonyOS 7
The first wave of the public beta version was the new generations of Huawei devices. It included:
- Huawei Mate 80;
- Huawei Pura 90;
- Huawei nova 16;
- Mate 70;
- Mate X7;
- Mate X6;
- Pura 80;
- new 15;
- other compatible models.
This does not mean that all listed smartphones get exactly the same version or set of features. Huawei uses a phased rollout, so the availability of the update depends on the specific model and testing phase.
The Mate 60 and Mate X5 will join in October
Huawei has already identified the following devices to expand the program. The company plans to start beta testing HarmonyOS 7 for the Mate 60 and Mate X5 series in October.
After that, the list of compatible models will continue to expand as testing is completed. This approach allows Huawei to gradually test the new system on different equipment before moving the devices to the next stage of the update.
The Mate 80 is already receiving small updates
In parallel with the expansion of the beta program, Huawei is releasing interim updates for devices already running HarmonyOS 7. For example, On September 17, the Mate 80 received HarmonyOS 7.0.0.107 SP8. It included improvements to the camera, Control Center, phone calls, and overall system stability. Therefore, owners of different Huawei smartphones may see different HarmonyOS 7 version numbers and a different set of changes. Huawei will continue to release smaller updates as bugs are discovered and software optimized.
How to test HarmonyOS 7
If your smartphone is included in the list of compatible models, you can check the availability of the update directly in the device settings through the section software updates. It is important to note that public beta and stable release are different stages of deployment. Also, the specific features of HarmonyOS 7 may vary depending on the smartphone model. Huawei is gradually expanding the list of devices, so the lack of an update today does not necessarily mean that a particular model will not receive HarmonyOS 7.
