iQOO 16 will receive a significant upgrade to the main camera. Company officially confirmedthat the new flagship will have a 50-megapixel sensor 1/1.3 inchwhich, according to the manufacturer, is capable of capturing at 79% more lightthan the camera of the previous iQOO 15.
This time, iQOO puts a noticeable emphasis not only on smartphone performance, but also on photography. The company has already revealed some of the camera technology before the presentation of the iQOO 16 in China, which is scheduled for September 29.
iQOO 16 will receive a 50-MP camera with a large sensor
The main camera iQOO 16 will use 50-MP 1/1.3-inch format sensor. According to official iQOO information, compared to iQOO 15 the new sensor captures 79% more light. This should be especially noticeable when shooting in difficult lighting conditions – for example, indoors, in the evening or at night. A large sensor also provides more data for further software image processing. It is the combination of hardware upgrade and computational photography that iQOO emphasizes in the new generation.
Super HDR and NICE 3.0 for photo processing
The main camera will receive proprietary technologies Super HDR and NICE 3.0. Super HDR should help preserve more information in bright and dark areas of the frame. This is especially important for scenes with a high dynamic range, where the smartphone must simultaneously not lose details in the shadows and not turn bright areas into overlit areas.
NICE 3.0 — iQOO’s own driver for optical reconstruction. According to the company, it should help restore and preserve more detail during image processing. Together with a larger sensor, these technologies should improve the quality of photos in various lighting conditions.
CIPA Stabilization 5.5
iQOO also confirmed the stabilization with the rating CIPA 5.5. A higher stabilization index means that the camera is able to more effectively compensate for the movement of the smartphone during shooting. In practice, this is especially important for night photography, when the camera uses a longer shutter speed, as well as for video recording. Thus, the main camera of the iQOO 16 combines three key hardware and software changes at once: a large sensor, Super HDR/NICE 3.0 and powerful stabilization.
What other cameras will iQOO 16 get?
Other characteristics of the camera have not yet been officially confirmed. According to the well-known insider Digital Chat Station, the main sensor can complement 50-MP ultra-wide-angle camera. Also expected 50-Mp periscopic telephoto camera Sony IMX882 with 3x optical zoom. If these data are confirmed, the iQOO 16 will receive a much more versatile camera system:
- 50 MP — main camera, 1/1.3 inch sensor;
- 50 MP — ultra-wide-angle camera;
- 50 MP — periscopic telephoto module;
- 3× is the declared optical zoom of the telephoto camera.

2K display at 165 Hz and 8400 mAh battery
In addition to the cameras, the iQOO 16 will receive characteristics characteristic of a flagship smartphone. According to preliminary data, the device will be equipped 6.85-inch AMOLED display Samsung M16 with 2K resolution and refresh rate 165 Hz. When iQOO 16 will be presented
Official presentation iQOO 16 in China is scheduled for September 29. Before the launch, the company will continue to reveal the specifications of the smartphone.
