HONOR 15,000 mAh battery: the company is preparing a smartphone with autonomy of up to a week

HONOR’s 15,000 mAh battery can become the basis of the company’s new smartphone designed for long-term operation without recharging.

HONOR may release a smartphone with a 15,000 mAh batterywhich will potentially run for up to a week without recharging. According to new sourcesthe company is already testing batteries with a capacity of 14,000 to 15,000 mAh and has even started their trial production. The main task for the manufacturer will be not only to increase the energy reserve, but also to maintain the acceptable dimensions of the smartphone. For this, HONOR allegedly uses a battery with high energy density. There is no official confirmation of the development yet.

HONOR is testing a 15,000 mAh battery

According to a Chinese insider, HONOR is experimenting with batteries with a capacity of 14,000-15,000 mAh. The batteries are allegedly already at the stage of trial production. If the development reaches serial production, it will be a noticeable step forward compared to the company’s current smartphones. To reduce the thickness and weight of the device, HONOR can use a battery with increased energy density. It is not yet known how thick and heavy such a smartphone will be. There is also no information about the charging speed and resource of the new battery.

HONOR already uses 12,070 mAh batteries

The company is gradually increasing the batteries in its smartphones. In October, HONOR Win RT 2 and Win Turbo 2 debuted in China, each with a 12,070 mAh battery. Earlier this year, the manufacturer also introduced HONOR X80 Pro Max with an 11,000 mAh battery. During testing, the smartphone worked for more than 26 hours in live streaming mode. Going to 14,000-15,000 mAh would mean another significant increase in power reserve. However, the figure alone does not guarantee weekly autonomy. The brightness of the display, mobile Internet, games, the operation of the processor and background applications affect the charge consumption.

Which HONOR smartphone will get a 15,000 mAh battery

The insider did not name the model of the future device. The upcoming HONOR Power3 or Win RT3 are mentioned among the possible options, but none of these names have been confirmed yet. The Power line is focused on autonomy, so using such a battery in it seems logical. At the same time, the Win series has also already received 12,070 mAh batteries, so the manufacturer can continue to develop this direction as well. Currently, the main characteristics of the smartphone remain unknown:

  • body thickness and weight;
  • wired charging speed;
  • display type and characteristics;
  • processor and other hardware components;
  • date of presentation and start of sales.

Without this data, it is still difficult to assess the practicality of the future device.

Will HONOR be able to create a smartphone for a week without charging

The 15,000 mAh battery can make autonomy one of the main arguments in favor of the HONOR smartphone. Such a device would be especially useful for travel, long trips and situations where access to an outlet is limited. However, the balance between autonomy and convenience will be important. A large battery should not turn a smartphone into a too heavy and thick device that is inconvenient to use every day. If HONOR really manages to combine a 15,000 mAh battery with acceptable dimensions, it could be one of the company’s most notable smartphone developments. So far it’s just a leak and not a confirmed product.
