iQOO 16 officially introduced in Chinaand the company’s new flagship made a bet on three areas at once — display, gaming performance, and autonomy. I received a smartphone 2K display with a refresh rate of 165 Hz, local peak brightness of up to 10,000 nits, Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and a battery of 8400 mAh. iQOO positions the new product as a flagship for mobile gaming, but at the same time uses it as a demonstration capabilities of the current top configuration Android. Sales of iQOO 16 in China will start immediately after the presentation.
The iQOO 16 display received 165 Hz and 10,000 nits

iQOO has prepared proprietary technology for gamers Q-Flex Touch. It should reduce the delay between touching the screen and the reaction of the game. The claimed instantaneous polling rate of the sensor layer has increased from 3200 to 5000 Hzand the frequency of processing multitouch commands — from 360 to 500 Hz. The company claims that optimization now works not only at the hardware level, but also directly integrated with the game engine. However, the claimed polling rates do not yet mean an automatic reduction in latency in real games. Independent tests will show how noticeable the difference will be during practical use.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 operates at a frequency of up to 5.01 GHz
The new iQOO 16 is responsible for performance Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6manufactured using a 2-nm process. The maximum clock frequency of the processor is declared at the level 5.01 GHz. The chip works together with the new generation of branded Monster Gaming Enginewhich is responsible for optimizing game performance. Additionally, own game chip is installed Q4 with a three-component architecture. According to iQOO, compared to the previous generation, it provides:
- on 15% higher productivity;
- on 19% faster cache operation;
- on 19% higher AI performance.
iQOO increased the battery to 8400 mAh
One of the biggest changes was the battery. iQOO 16 received a battery with a capacity of 8400 mAhwhile the iQOO 15 used a 7,000 mAh battery. The increase is approx 20%. The charging capacity remained at the same level 100 W wired and 40 W wireless charging. It is interesting that the iQOO 16 does not have the largest battery among the current models of the brand. For example, related iQOO Neo 11 Ultra got an even bigger 9100 mAh battery.
Cooling has become more extensive
The increase in performance is accompanied by an updated cooling system. The area of the evaporation chamber in iQOO 16 has increased from 8000 to 8500 mm²i.e. by approximately 6%. At the same time, the area of the cooling gel increased by 41%and the area of graphite layers — at 20%. This combination should help the smartphone maintain high performance for longer during long gaming sessions.
The smartphone received additional gaming functions
iQOO expanded not only the hardware part of the gaming system. Technology appeared in the smartphone virtual point light sourcewhich can add additional lighting in games even beyond the original scene. For recording the game process is provided 8K camera. Streamers get additional features, including super-resolution and ray tracing during broadcasts, recording in original quality, simplified connection of the capture card, intelligent editing and sound correction. In cooperation with Douyin, the smartphone can also reduce noise caused by fingers touching the screen during recording or streaming.
iQOO 16 received three cameras of 50 MP each
On the back is a new square camera unit Tomorrow’s Porthole. It unites three sensors with a resolution of 50 MP. The system includes a main camera, an ultra-wide-angle module and periscope telephoto module. Thus, iQOO did not limit itself to gaming capabilities and made the camera configuration more versatile.
Memory, colors and configurations
iQOO 16 will be available with max 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of internal storage. The smartphone was presented in three design options:

- Legend;
- Racing Track.
As a result, the iQOO 16 received a comprehensive update compared to its predecessor: the display became faster, the local peak brightness increased to 10,000 nits, the processor went to a new generation, the cooling system became larger, and the battery capacity increased to 8400 mAh. The main feature of the model remains the focus on mobile gaming, but the set of characteristics makes the iQOO 16 a full-fledged flagship, and not a specialized gaming smartphone.
