Xiaomi has started rolling out the September 2026 security update for smartphones Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO. The first new assemblies receive individual models in China, and for some devices, the security update comes at the same time HyperOS 4. For now, this is just the first wave of deployment, so the list of compatible smartphones should expand.
Which Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO are already getting the update
In the first phase, the September 2026 patch is available for the following models:

The peculiarity of these collections is that they already belong to HyperOS 4and not to the older branch of HyperOS 3. For users, this means that in some cases, the September security patch becomes part of a much larger operating system update.
The September Android patch closes 180 vulnerabilities
The security part of the update also deserves attention. In September Android Security Bulletin Google is listed 95 fixes for Android System and Framework. Yet 85 corrections related to hardware components and drivers, including solutions from Qualcomm, MediaTek, Arm, Imagination Technologies, and Unisoc. The most serious of the system problems is a vulnerability that allows remote arbitrary code execution. Its use does not require additional privileges or user interaction. However, this does not mean that all 180 fixes apply to every Xiaomi smartphone. The set of fixes depends on the specific model, hardware platform, and software build.
HyperOS 4 is already moving beyond China
Separately, Xiaomi has started global beta testing HyperOS 4. Some models have already entered the program, including Xiaomi 15, Xiaomi 15 Ultra, Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro for global and EEA regions. However, the situation with the stable global version is still different. Xiaomi has not yet released the full schedule for the stable HyperOS 4 rollout for all international markets. Therefore, the appearance of a Chinese assembly on a specific smartphone does not mean that the same version will simultaneously become available to users in Ukraine or other regions.
How to manually check for Xiaomi updates
If your smartphone belongs to the models for which deployment has already begun, you can check the availability of a new version directly in the settings:
Settings → About phone → HyperOS → Check for updates
If the new firmware is not yet displayed, this does not necessarily mean that the device will not receive it. Xiaomi uses a phased rollout, so even owners of the same model can receive the update at different times. The availability of the firmware is also affected by the region of the smartphone.
The list of Xiaomi smartphones should expand
The September 2026 security update is still in the early stages of deployment. The first assemblies have already appeared for individual Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO, and part of the devices simultaneously switches to HyperOS 4. It is not only important for users what new features HyperOS 4 brings. Security updates cover vulnerabilities in Android and smartphone components, so once a stable build for a particular device appears, installing it is of practical importance. If your Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO has not yet received the September patch, you should check for updates periodically: the first models have already started receiving the new builds, but the global rollout is still ongoing.
