Vivo X500 officially presented in China, and the regular model of the new flagship series received characteristics that are usually reserved for more expensive versions. The smartphone has a battery 7500 mAhAMOLED display with frequency 144 Hza new chip MediaTek Dimensity 9600MZEISS cameras and 90 W charging. Sales in China will start on September 24.
Vivo X500 received an AMOLED display at 144 Hz
The smartphone is equipped with a flat 6.59-inch LTPS– a display with a resolution of 2750×1260 pixels, i.e. 1.5K. The maximum refresh rate is 144Hz and the system can switch between 30, 60, 90, 120 and 144Hz depending on the usage scenario. The declared peak brightness reaches 4000 knots under certain measurement conditions. For everyday use, it is more important that Vivo used a flat panel: it does not have curved edges, which sometimes create inconvenience when playing games or working with content.
ZEISS cameras: 50 MP primary and 64 MP telephoto
Vivo X500 received triple camera system with settings ZEISS. The main camera uses 50-Mp Sony LYTIA-828 sensor 1/1.28-inch format, f/1.68 aperture and optical stabilization. It is complemented by a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and 64-MP telephoto on the Sony LYTIA-610 sensor. The telephoto has an equivalent focal length of 72mm and supports 3x optical zoom. There is also optical stabilization and focusing from a distance of 15 cm, which allows you to use the module not only for close-ups, but also for close-ups. For photographers, Vivo also offers additional accessories, including the ZEISS G2 telephoto kit. Separately, the company focused on video. Vivo X500 became the first smartphone with native 8K Liveand also supports 4K Live with cinematic color styles.
Dimensity 9600M made its debut in the Vivo X500
Vivo X500 became the first smartphone with a processor MediaTek Dimensity 9600M. The chip is manufactured using a 3nm process, has an eight-core CPU and Arm G1-Ultra graphics. Vivo’s official specification indicates a maximum CPU frequency of up to 4.21 GHz. The smartphone received 12 GB of RAM LPDDR5X Ultra and a UFS 4.1 drive of 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB. The proprietary Vivo V3+ chip is additionally responsible for photo and video processing. This configuration allows the X500 to combine MediaTek’s new mobile platform with its own image processing algorithms.
Battery 7500 mAh and charging 90 W
The main feature Vivo X500 became the battery capacity 7500 mAh. For a standard model of the flagship series, this is a very large figure, especially considering the case thickness of only 8.15 mm. The weight of the smartphone is 211-213 g depending on the version. At the same time, Vivo did not sacrifice charging speed. The smartphone supports:
- 90 W wired charging;
- 40 W wireless charging;
- Bypass Charging 2.0 technology.
The company uses the fifth generation of Blue Ocean silicon-negative battery.
IP68, IP69 and OriginOS 7
Vivo X500 received protection against dust and water according to standards IP68 and IP69an ultrasonic 3D fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers and an IR port. Wireless options include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC. The smartphone is also equipped with a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port. It runs Vivo X500 under the control OriginOS 7. Vivo claims to maintain smooth operation for 72 months, i.e. six years, but this is exactly the indicator declared by the manufacturer, and not an independently confirmed test.
Vivo X500: Price in China
In China, the Vivo X500 is available in three configurations:
- 12/256 GB — 5,499 yuan;
- 12/512 GB — 5,999 yuan;
- 12GB/1TB — 6,999 yuan.
According to Vivo’s official data, sales will start in September 2026. At the time of launch, the company did not announce the global price and timing of international sales of the Vivo X500.
What makes the Vivo X500 stand out
Vivo did not turn the standard X500 into a simplified version of older models. I received a smartphone 7500 mAh144-Hz AMOLED display, new Dimensity 9600M, ZEISS cameras with 64-MP telephoto, 40 W wireless charging and IP68/IP69 protection. It is the combination of a large battery and a productive platform that makes the Vivo X500 interesting not only as the youngest model in the series. For users who value autonomy, a fast display and a zoom camera, the set of characteristics looks much more serious than one would expect from a standard version of the flagship line.
