Serhiy Tokarev about the Embedd startup, which raised $2.7 million with the participation of Roosh Ventures

London-based deep tech company Embedd, which automates the integration of software with various chips, has raised $2.7 million in pre-seed investment. The Ukrainian venture fund Roosh Ventures is also among the investors that joined the round.

The Embedd startup is building a software infrastructure for robotics and physical AI that is already ready for industrial use. Thanks to the company’s solution, software for chips is developed up to six times faster.

“Even the most intelligent equipment will not work fully until its chips understand each other. At Embedd, they are creating such an infrastructure, without which physical AI cannot scale.”— says the co-founder and general partner of Roosh Ventures Sergey Tokarev.

How the idea of creating Embedd came about

This year in robotics and physical AI already invested almost $19 billion. But every “smart” machine has an obstacle in the form of a lack of reliable interaction between dozens of different chips that do not share a common “language” and software. The next wave of AI will transform how robots, factories, critical infrastructure and vehicles operate, but each change in hardware slows innovation as development teams are forced to spend time on instructions and writing code.

Serhiy Tokarev about the Embedd startup, which raised $2.7 million with the participation of Roosh Ventures

“The potential of physical AI is difficult to assess, but due to the fragmentation of modern equipment, all accelerations are practically impossible. We built Embedd to solve this problem and welcome your support as we scale. These investments will allow not only to develop the platform, but also to increase the number of partners who integrate their equipment into new software ecosystems”— noted Mykhailo Lazarenko, co-founder and CEO of Embedd.

The startup was founded by Mykhailo Lazarenko, Valentin Hololobov and Maksym Gorinov after their previous company faced a shortage of chips during the coronavirus pandemic, and later its work was disrupted by a full-scale invasion of Russian troops into the territory of Ukraine. In April 2026, Ukrainian technology entrepreneurs have already signed contracts with some semiconductor manufacturers, including Microchip Technology.

In the competition in the field of embedded systems, the speed of chips is no longer as important as it used to be. Now it will all come down to whose platform developers will build products on.

“In addition to Roosh Ventures, Seedcamp, 2100 Ventures, Cocoa, Connect Ventures, U.ventures, Vesna Capital, Common Magic and Underline Ventures joined the round. Raised funding Embedd plans to direct to the development and scaling of the platform, as well as to the expansion of cooperation with semiconductor manufacturers”– noted Sergey Tokarev.

Further development of artificial intelligence will take place in the physical world, but the current software stack was never designed for such a reality. Embedd’s software infrastructure solves one of the fundamental problems faced by industries ranging from automotive to robotics.
