HONOR Magic 9 is preparing for an international launch, with the first presentation outside of China taking place in Hong Kong on November 4, and a European debut scheduled for January 2027. This was announced by HONOR Global Marketing Director Guan Haitao on Weibo. The series includes three models with different purposes: the more compact Magic 9, the mobile photography oriented Magic 9 Pro Max and the Magic 9 Super Edition with a large 11,000 mAh battery. This approach allows the company to offer different options for users without focusing on only one set of characteristics.
HONOR Magic 9: two 200 MP cameras in a compact body
The standard HONOR Magic 9 received a 6.37-inch display and an 8000 mAh battery. The processor is responsible for performance Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5and the smartphone runs MagicOS 11. The main camera consists of two 200-megapixel sensors — the main and telephoto lens. They are complemented by a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. For selfies, there is a 55 MP front camera with several framing modes. Thus, even the basic model of the series received a serious set of cameras. At the same time, its main difference from older versions is the more compact body and display format.
HONOR Magic 9 Pro Max received ARRI video technology
HONOR Magic 9 Pro Max became the most advanced model of the series. It features a 6.8-inch display, an 8,800mAh battery, and supports 100W wired charging. Wireless charging works with a power of up to 80 W. The main focus is on a camera developed in collaboration with ARRI. The smartphone supports video recording in the format ARRI LogC3 and offers 14 preset ARRI Looks profiles. There is a separate ARRI CINEMA mode that allows you to record videos in 4K format at 60 frames per second. The proprietary HONOR H1 chip is responsible for image processing, and the hardware platform is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. These capabilities should interest users who often shoot videos on a smartphone. However, the actual recording quality, stabilization work and color processing will be more important than the list of supported formats and profiles.
HONOR Magic 9 Super Edition received an 11,000 mAh battery
The third model of the series focuses primarily on autonomy. HONOR Magic 9 Super Edition is equipped with a battery of 11,000 mAh — the largest among the three presented models. The smartphone supports 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. To accommodate such a large battery, the manufacturer probably had to make certain compromises in other components. In particular, according to preliminary information, the Super Edition is inferior to older models in terms of camera capabilities. Such a choice may interest those for whom long-term work without recharging is more important than maximum photographic capabilities. At the same time, it will be possible to finally assess the practicality of the model only after the information about its weight, thickness and the results of real autonomy tests appears.
When HONOR Magic 9 will be released in Europe
The international launch of the series begins in Hong Kong on November 4. The European presentation is planned for January 2027. HONOR has confirmed that UK and France will be among the launch markets. Pricing and local availability details have yet to be announced. There is also no confirmation regarding the timing of the appearance of all three models in other European countries. For the Ukrainian market, neither the date of the start of sales nor the official price has yet been named. Therefore, it will be possible to evaluate the prospects of the series in Ukraine after the announcement of European prices and the appearance of information from local sellers. HONOR made a bet on a clear separation of models: Magic 9 combines a more compact format with powerful cameras, Pro Max is focused on video recording, and Super Edition – on autonomy. How successful such a strategy will be will largely depend on prices on international markets.
