vivo X500 Ultra can get Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor, BOE display with 2K resolution and refresh rate up to 144 Hz. The first details about the future flagship appeared on October 19 thanks to Chinese insider Digital Chat Station. The smartphone itself has not yet been officially presented, and its connection with the published characteristics remains a guess.
According to IT Home publicationthe device referred to in the leak could be the vivo X500 Ultra itself. It is expected that the novelty will be released in the spring of 2027 — approximately in March or April.
What display will the vivo X500 Ultra get?
According to preliminary data, the vivo X500 Ultra will be equipped 6.85-inch BOE display with 2K resolution. The declared refresh rate will reach 144 Hz, and the technology LTPO will allow you to dynamically change it depending on the content on the screen. This helps reduce power consumption in scenarios where maximum smoothness is not required. The insider also describes a flat panel with narrow bezels on all four sides and rounded corners. The fingerprint scanner is rumored to be ultrasonic and placed under the display. For comparison, the vivo X300 Ultra has a 6.82-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 3168 × 1440 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. The smartphone runs on a processor Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. If the leak is confirmed, don’t expect a significant jump in refresh rate in the new generation. The main changes may be a slightly larger diagonal and a more powerful hardware platform.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6: what is known about the processor
One of the main features of the future flagship may become Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6which is also referred to under the abbreviated name 8EE6. There are no confirmed specifications, test results or official performance data for this chip yet. Therefore, it is too early to assess the advantage over the processors of the previous generation. If vivo does indeed use Qualcomm’s new flagship platform, it will be an important part of positioning the X500 Ultra as a smartphone for demanding users, mobile gaming, and photo and video work.
How will the vivo X500 Ultra differ from the X500 Pro Max
Vivo Vice President Huang Tao previously stated that the company will continue to develop the Ultra series. According to him, the next model is expected in March or April 2027, and its camera system should be more noticeably different from vivo X500 Pro Max. In September 2026, the company introduced vivo X500, X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max in China. At the same time, the characteristics of the cameras of the future Ultra-version have not yet been disclosed. For reference: vivo X300 Ultra is equipped with two 200 MP cameras and a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor. However, you should not expect three cameras with a resolution of 200 MP in the next model. To the corresponding assumption, Digital Chat Station replied that such a configuration is not planned. Other reports claim that vivo has been testing multiple 200-megapixel sensors. But the very fact of testing does not mean that all of them will make it to the serial smartphone. To evaluate the capabilities of the X500 Ultra in mobile photography, we will have to wait for more specific data on sensors, optics and image processing.

vivo X500 Ultra price and release date
Now vivo has not announced a price, full specifications or an exact launch date for the X500 Ultra. Battery capacity, charging parameters and the final configuration of the cameras also remain unknown. An international launch has not been confirmed either. According to some reports, the smartphone may remain exclusive to the Chinese market, but there is no official information about the geography of sales yet. It is important to note that the insider did not name the vivo X500 Ultra directly: this connection is suggested by the publication IT Home. Therefore, the published characteristics should be taken as preliminary, and not as the final specifications of the device. If the leak is accurate, vivo is preparing a flagship with a large 2K display, a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz and a new Qualcomm processor. However, the main questions — camera capabilities, autonomy, price and availability outside of China — remain open for now.
