Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 can become the basis of three new flagship smartphones with very large batteries. According to a well-known insider Digital Chat Station, three devices with the new top Qualcomm chipset are set to debut in October and batteries on 8400, 9000 and about 10,000 mAh. Smartphone manufacturers have not yet confirmed these characteristics, so the information should be taken as a preliminary leak.
Three smartphones may be released as early as October
Digital Chat Station reported on Weibo that three upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 smartphones will have batteries with a much larger capacity than most current flagships. It is about three indicators:
- 8400 mAh;
- 9000 mAh;
- about 10,000 mAh.
According to the insider, all three models will also support fast wired charging with a power of 100 W and full wireless charging. Specific power values for each smartphone are still unknown. Digital Chat Station did not reveal the names of the models. Therefore, it is currently impossible to say exactly which brands are preparing these devices.

10,000 mAh batteries are becoming a new trend
A few years ago, a 6,000-7,000 mAh battery was considered too large for a flagship smartphone. Now manufacturers are increasingly using silicon-carbon batteries, which allow you to increase the capacity without the same proportional increase in dimensions. He became a demonstrative example iQOO 16which has already received a battery on 8400 mAh and the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. Thus, the smallest of the three capacities announced in the leak already has a real example in a serial smartphone. The indicator looks even more interesting 9000 mAhwhich is expected from the OnePlus 16. If the information about the third device with a battery is close 10,000 mAh if confirmed, it would be a significant step up for a regular flagship smartphone. At the same time, the battery capacity itself does not guarantee a corresponding increase in autonomy. Uptime is also affected by the power efficiency of the processor, display, modem, software, and cooling system.
100W charging will be important
Large batteries have an obvious disadvantage – they take longer to charge. That is why the appearance of 8,400-10,000 mAh batteries is accompanied by the development of fast charging. According to Digital Chat Station, three new smartphones will be received wired charging with a power of at least 100 W. In addition, they must support fast wireless charging at the full speed available for specific models. It is not yet known whether all three devices will have the same power. It’s possible that one of them will get 120 or even 150W charging, while the others will be limited to 100W. This is especially important for a 10,000 mAh battery: without fast charging, the advantage of a large capacity could be accompanied by an excessively long charging time.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 has already been introduced
The basis of these smartphones should become Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 — Qualcomm’s new top mobile chipset, presented in September together with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. The Extreme version is positioned as a more powerful version of the platform and is manufactured by 2-nm technological process. Qualcomm focuses not only on CPU and GPU performance, but also on energy efficiency, artificial intelligence, mobile gaming, and photo and video processing capabilities. The energy efficiency of the new generation of chips may be one of the factors that will allow manufacturers to combine very large batteries with thin cases and high-performance components.
Which smartphones will get batteries up to 10,000 mAh
For now, this is the main mystery of the leak. Digital Chat Station didn’t name specific models, so it’s too early to associate all three devices with specific brands. It is only known that we are talking about smartphones that should be released in October and will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. If the information is confirmed, October may be one of the first months when several flagships will cross the 8000 mAh mark. And the appearance of a model with a battery of about 10,000 mAh will show how far manufacturers are ready to go in the fight for autonomy. For now, this is only a leak, so the final specifications, smartphone names, charging capacity and presentation dates must be waited for by the manufacturers themselves.
